MIPS Training and Knowledge Hub Ltd (THE TRAINING LAB)
The following constitute the terms and conditions to which trainees/addendees/applicants agree when booking any THE TRAINING LAB training/workshop/sessions on traininglab.mu (Terms and Conditions). Throughout the terms and conditions, THE TRAINING LAB stands for MIPS Training and Knowledge Hub Ltd. THE TRAINING LAB reserves the right to review and update these periodically.
Registration with THE TRAINING LAB (Creating an account)
When booking onto a training, we require you to register to create an account and provide us with certain information about yourself. In doing this, you agree to:
- Provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the registration form.
- Maintain and promptly update the data we hold by logging into your account and updating via ‘My profile’.
Booking a training/workshop/session
Training can be booked via the booking forms available on the THE TRAINING LAB website. You need to be registered before you can do this as you will be required to log in or create your account to complete the form. Together with your booking, you will have to pay online the fees for your booking to be confirmed. When you submit a booking, your submission represents an offer to THE TRAINING LAB to book you onto the training/workshop/sessions you selected. On submission of the booking form, you will receive an automated summary email of your selection. THE TRAINING LAB will accept your offer by entering your booking onto THE TRAINING LAB’s system and sending you an email confirming that you have been booked together with information on training/workshop/sessions.

Enrolment to THE TRAINING LAB training/workshop/session does not constitute a contract with THE TRAINING LAB for professional advice. No representation or warranty (express or implied) is given as to the accuracy or completeness of the information (written or oral) that will be provided, and, to the extent permitted by law, THE TRAINING LAB, its members, employees and agents do not accept or assume any liability, responsibility or duty of care for any consequences of you or anyone else acting.
Fees
Payment of fees should be effected online when booking your seat or upon receipt of our invoice including our payment link and prior to the training/workshop/session. All payments will be done via MIPS secure online payment process. THE TRAINING LAB reserves the right to change prices listed without prior notice. Sales taxes (VAT, TVA etc.) are charged at the applicable rate by Mauritian law. The fees include: training on the day(s) and all relevant course materials. If you have an applicable discount code, this must be entered at the time of booking, as the discount cannot be applied retrospectively. We accept AMEX, Mastercard, and Visa card payments as well as all Maucas QR Payments through all National Payment Applications.
Receipts will be issued once payment is confirmed and sent to you by email from MIPS confirming payment and thus your booking. MIPS will receive the information needed to verify and authorise your payment and to process your booking. Please note that if you do not provide accurate details (including type of card and number) or if your company credit card does not authorise payment, your booking will be deemed void. THE TRAINING LAB will not accept any liability for costs incurred as a result of applications deemed void in this manner. We do not accept payment by instalments.
Cancellations
THE TRAINING LAB always endeavours to accommodate our trainees/addendees/applicants’ requests, however, cancellations or transfers cause inconvenience and may jeopardize the commercial viability of a training/workshop/session.
Cancellation of your booking:
- Cancellations within 5 days of the event will be non-refundable.
- Cancellations within 15 days of the event will incur a 15% penalty.
- Cancellations prior to 15 days will incur no penalty.
Substituting your training course place:
If you need to substitute your place on a training/workshop/session, you must notify THE TRAINING LAB via email startnow@traininglab.mu. If THE TRAINING LAB is notified more than 30 days before the course scheduled start date, there will be no charge. Any substitutions made less than 30 days before the course scheduled start date will incur a 500 MUR (Rs 500) admin fee.
Transferring your place:
If you can no longer attend the training course, you are entitled to transfer your booking onto the next training course that has availability. The transfer option only applies to attendees who are transferring to a different date for the same course, and the date must be specified at the time of the transfer. The transfer is free of charge if you notify THE TRAINING LAB via email startnow@traininglab.mu more than 30 days before the course start date.
- Transfers made 15-28 days prior to a course will be charged at 20% of the course fee plus a 500 MUR (Rs 500) admin fee.
- Transfers made 0-14 days prior to a course will be charged at 50% of the course fee plus a 500 MUR (Rs 500) admin fee.
Please note once you have transferred your booking, you will not be entitled to a refund, and you cannot transfer your place more than once.
Changes and/or Cancellation by THE TRAINING LAB:
THE TRAINING LAB reserves the right to cancel any training/workshop/session due to insufficient enrolment by providing notice to you at least 7 (seven) calendar days prior to the scheduled commencement date. THE TRAINING LAB reserves the right to alter or cancel a training/workshop/session up to and including the day of the training course in extreme circumstances.
- THE TRAINING LAB will try to reschedule the training course and will inform you of the rescheduled dates and location (if the course is held face to face).
- If THE TRAINING LAB can’t reschedule a face-to-face training course, we will, where possible, provide an alternative (e.g., virtual classroom training course).
- If THE TRAINING LAB is unable to reschedule the training course, we will offer you a free transfer to the next available training course.
- Any travel costs incurred are entirely the trainee’s/addendee’s/applicant’s responsibility. THE TRAINING LAB does not accept any liability for reimbursement of travel costs.
- Refunds will be processed within 30 days of receiving your request via bank transfer to the original payer.
Non-attendance at a training/workshop/session
If you fail to attend the training/workshop/session you are booked onto, for any reason, without giving prior notice to THE TRAINING LAB, we will be unable to refund the fees or offer a transfer.
Substitutions
Substitutions of trainees/addendees/applicants are not allowed.
Attendance
Failure to attend without notice will be treated as a cancellation and the full fee will be due. If trainees/addendees/applicants fail to attend the first or any subsequent day of a training/workshop/session, we reserve the right to deny the trainee entry to the training room for the remainder of the training/workshop/session.
Monitoring of Attendance
- All participants should ensure that they have signed the attendance sheet on arrival; name and signature to be the same as per ID.
- Should participants be unable to attend for the full duration of the training/workshop/session, they should inform THE TRAINING LAB before leaving.
- All participants should bring along their National Identity Card (or equivalent) as the HRDC Monitoring Team may request for participant’s identification.
Prerequisites
It is the trainee’s responsibility to ensure that he/she meets any stated training/workshop/session prerequisites. Training/workshop/session will be delivered with reasonable care and skill, but THE TRAINING LAB accepts no liability in the event that the content does not meet the trainee’s requirements or expectations.
Behaviour
THE TRAINING LAB reserves the right to remove any attendee from a training/workshop/session whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by THE TRAINING LAB or its trainers. In these circumstances, THE TRAINING LAB will neither refund any fees nor reimburse any other costs.
Copyright
All intellectual property rights, including copyright, patents, design rights and know-how in or relating to the training/workshop/session or materials and audio of all webinars and podcasts that are provided, or made available in connection with the delivered training/workshop/session, remain the sole property of THE TRAINING LAB or the copyright holder as stated in the material.
Certificate of completion and Registration
We will provide a certificate of completion to each participant who has attended a training/workshop/session. Our responsibility is to ensure that the relevant training/workshop/session is with the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA). Trainees/addendees/applicants are solely responsible for their registration with the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC).
Liability
THE TRAINING LAB will use reasonable skill and care in providing the training/workshop/session. Other than as set out in the next two clauses, the liability of THE TRAINING LAB for loss or damage arising from or in relation to the training/workshop/session, whether arising from breach of contract, tort, or otherwise, is limited to an amount strictly equal to one time the fees payable by you for the training/workshop/session.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless THE TRAINING LAB and its directors, officers, and employees from and against any demands, damages or liabilities (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from a third party claim that the indemnifying Party caused bodily injury (including death) or damaged real or tangible personal property.
Trainers
THE TRAINING LAB shall ensure that appropriate trainers with the relevant qualifications and experience will be engaged to deliver each training/workshop/session and produce the training material. THE TRAINING LAB shall provide such trainers to present the training course as it, in its sole discretion, deems fit and THE TRAINING LAB shall be entitled at any time to substitute any trainer with any other person who, in THE TRAINING LAB sole discretion, deems suitably qualified to present the relevant course.
Photos
Group photos may be taken during the training/workshop/session or remittance of certificates. These may be shared on our social media profiles or THE TRAINING LAB’s website. Should any participant have any objection to their photo being used, please inform THE TRAINING LAB in writing in advance.
Personal Data
The personal data you provide when you book the training/workshop/session will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act and used by THE TRAINING LAB for the purpose of delivering your training/workshop/session. Your full name, job title, and employer will be shared with your trainer in advance of the course.
Law
In case disputes arise, attempts shall be made to settle these amicably. In case an amicable solution cannot be obtained, the disputes shall be settled according to Mauritian law.
Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable to the other for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms & Conditions (except for a failure to pay fees) if the delay or failure is due to unforeseen events which are beyond the reasonable control of such party, such as a strike, blockade, war, act of terrorism, riot, natural disaster, failure or diminishment of power or telecommunications or data networks or services, each a Force Majeure Event.
Confidentiality
Except as otherwise set forth in these Terms & Conditions, each party may disclose to the other party certain confidential information under these Terms & Conditions. Each party agrees that all code, inventions, know-how, business, technical and financial information or any information specifically designated as confidential or that could be understood to be confidential or proprietary by a reasonable person disclosed to such party (“Receiving Party”) by the disclosing party (“Disclosing Party”) constitute the confidential property of the Disclosing Party (“Confidential Information”).

The above constitute the terms and conditions to which trainees/addendees/applicants agree when booking any training/workshop/session (“Terms & Conditions”). If you are agreeing to these Terms & Conditions not as an individual but on behalf of your company or other legal entity, then, “trainee” or “you” or “your” or “attendee” or ”applicant” shall refer to such entity and its affiliates, and you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity and its affiliates to these Terms & Conditions, and you are binding your company to these Terms & Conditions.
THE TRAINING LAB reserves the right to review and update these Terms & conditions periodically at its sole discretion.
BY ACCEPTING THIS AGREEMENT, EITHER BY CLICKING A BOX INDICATING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OR BY EXECUTING AN ORDER FORM THAT REFERENCES THIS AGREEMENT, OR BY USING OR ACCESSING THE TRAINING MATERIAL, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT.
